How to fix a wet cellphone / mobile phone

Dropped your cellphone / mobile phone in the water and it doesn’t seem to work anymore? Here’s the step by step guide as to the best way to fix your cellphone / mobile phone when it’s wet:


This is one of the most common problem with cellphone users, they would drop their phone in the water and start panicking as they think that everything’s lost. Don’t worry, Here’s how we can help fix your phone.



Tools required to fix:

  • Plastic container with a lid
  • Blow Dryer
  • Towel
  • 2 Silica Gel Packs (You’ll normally find it in packaged food)


Steps in fixing cellphone:

  1. Remove the cellphone battery
  2. Remove the cellphone SIM card
  3. Dab / Wipe the cellphone, battery and SIM card
  4. Use the blow dryer (at the lowest heat or at cool) to dry your cellphone
  5. Place your Cellphone, Battery and SIM card in the container
  6. Place the Silica Gel in the Container as it removes the moisture, and close the Lid (If you don’t have a Silica Gel, place the container in the front of the aircondition).
  7. Leave the container sealed for 3 days
  8. If your phone doesn’t work after 3 days, plug it into the charger without the battery (If it works, then you might have to replace the battery)
